Two is Not a Winner and Three Nobody Remembers
Justin Bieber is currently on tour but did you know he’s a Teen Choice Award winner, too? Even though the show doesn’t air until August 9 and voting is apparently still open, certain winners have already been decided.
Justin is unable to attend the show (it happens August 8 but is taped to air for August 9) because of his tour so he received four of his awards last night, July 25, when he performed in Glendale, AZ.
I did not know this but there is a disclaimer, which can be read above, that airs at the end of the Teen Choice Awards informing viewers that a committee “has the right to determine the winners from among the top four vote getters of the nominees” and the final winner was chosen by the producers.
Essentially this means that your votes help determine the final four nominees for each category and someone else picks the winner. I guess they do this to spread out the awards, so not one person (or group) wins them all but it takes away the point of fan voting doesn’t it?
